Complete this table relating the values of Ecell and ΔG to the Q/K ratio.

Now plug in Q/K = 1 and solve for Ecell.

Then plug Ecell = 0 into the following equation and solve for ΔG.

Thus, when Q/K = 1, both Ecell and ΔG are equal to 0. For any value greater than 1, its logarithm is positive. For any value less than 1, its logarithm is negative. Based on this equation, we can see that Ecell has the opposite sign of the logarithm of Q/K.
