We've already covered two tasks of this initiative and I'd be lying if I say they haven't helped me in paving my way on this Platform. Recently, there were some people who were questioning my intentions on this platform. For them, I'd like my work to speak. I know my intentions. I know my path and I know that whatever I'm and I'll be doing it will be with all my heart.
Anyway, moving on to the 3rd task, it's all about how a user can stay safe on this Platform. In these times, scammers are scattered everywhere like insects, waiting for the right oppurtunity to sting us. Our goal is to be vigilant and stay safe from these scammers. Let's move on to the questions that we have to take into consideration.
In your opinion, what are the best ways of keeping your keys safe?
Ummm, I guess the safest way of securing you keys is to write them on a piece of paper, fold it and then throw it in the Ocean. This way no one will be able to get a hand on them. Oh wait, there's an issue while doing this. Even you won't be able to get your keys ever again. There has to be another way. Well, yes, there are some other ways. I'll tell you the safest way for me.
- Offline Storage:
I trust myself with this method the most. What I do is, I write down the keys on a piece of paper and then keep it somewhere safe, usually give it to my father who keeps it safe for me. This is the safest option in my opinion. Even if someone breaks in the house, God Forbid and finds this piece of paper, he'll probably think: 'What is this bullshit?'
Entrust it to someone:
I know some of you may disagree with this, but I have been doing it for quite some time now. I have given my keys to that one person I trust with my life. So, in case if I lose the ones I have, they will still have my keys safe with them. This shows I trust that one person completely.
How do you check your recovery account and what process is needed to recover an account?
The thing with Hive Blockchain is that there are so my front ends and each with it's own accessibility. I use the Peakd frontend, so for this question, I'll guide you how to do that, step by step, with pictures.
- First of all, go to your Account Profile.
- Click on the tree dots as shown in the screenshot below.
- Click on Keys and Permission
- Click on 'Recovery account'
- You'll see your recovery account at the bottom.
How to recover an account?
Follow me step by step to recover an account.
- Click on "Recover Account"
- you'll then see a form:
- fill in the necessary information and then send the Owner Key to the person you have entrusted with your recovery account.

Following all these steps, you'll be able to recover your account successfully.
Whom did you choose as your account trustee, and why?
It's only been a month since I joined Hive and I am still taking my time to consider who do I trust enough to give this huge responsibility. I don't know many people personally on this platform, so most probably it will take me a bit of more time.
Right now, my recovery account is ocdb which was set by default.
List the various types of keys and state their use cases.

| Active Key | For Powering up, Powering down, transactions, exchanges etc |
| Memo Key | For the usage of Encrypted Messages. |

| Master Key | As the name suggests, for resetting all other keys, it is the Master Key. |
