I picked up the paintbrush today after 10 years, you see I never really stopped liking painting and adding colors and making a mess in the color palette, it's just that I wasn't confident enough since the past 10 years to have a go at painting once again. I used to be an imaginative child, I still am and the credit goes to all the story books and novels that I had been reading since my early childhood. The first set of books, I remember, I read was Jack and Jill, after that I was really fascinated by the secret seven, goosebumps etc. Man, I used to be so indulged in Goosebumps that my parents were actually concerned about me. I used to see spirits and ghosts in everyone lmao. After that came the Harry Potter series, the Song of Ice and Fire and other fictional books. I was an avid reader since the very beginning and its due to that my imagination increased over time. Through my imagination I developed an interest in painting.

Unfortunately, I wasn't very good at painting. My elder brother could sketch phenomenally. He could literally sketch people sitting in front of him. I couldn't do that, I couldn't paint without making a mess, I couldn't draw but I wanted to. So, even being extremely poor at it, I didn't stop.... untill I was humiliated by my arts teacher in grade 7. That was 10 years ago and I hadn't held a paint brush since then. It was after ten years today, I painted something because I wanted to and I'll be showing it to you all. I'm not sure what to call this painting. It's just flowers blooming in togetherness.

Process

Step 1

The first step was to paint the canvas black as the white background didn't quite tempt me. I painted the canvas with a mixture of black and sap green as the black paint had a lot of contrast and I didn't want that.

Step 2

After the canvas was completely painted in black, I picked up the brush and made leaves of varying sizes using thre different colors. The darkest of them, sap green was used in the deepest part, on top it was viridian and on the superficial layer was emerald green as it was giving the lightest vibe.

Step 3

Once the leaves had dried, I made flowers that kind of look like daisies. I didn't have any particular flower in mind. I just wanted to fill all the empty spaces on the canvas with flowets. Some of these might be looking like daisies, some giving off other shapes. The paint I used was titanium white.*

Step 4

Once the flowers had dried off, I wanted to give it a better look. For that, I picked up the round brush again and in the center of each flower, I painted lemon yellow to finish it off in style.

Finished Product

After it had dried off, I picked it up and pondered over my work. I think it'd be fair to say I was extremely happy over my work. It looked something like this.
