There are so many good quotes in the comment:

he difference between having money and loving money is far more than merely pedantry.

Simply having money isn't evil. You can have immense fortune and live in love with good people and purpose to do them good. Often this costs money, and this can result in fiscal imprudence.

Having money isn't evil as long as doing good to good people is more important to you.

I agree with you. I think too many people focus on getting money without thinking about long-term what they want that money for.

I think a lot of people do want money to do good things at first but then they get lost along the way. Money is very addictive and I try to be careful and adjust when I am not being wise but being greedy.

I have also made mistakes with money in the past. Like just giving stuff away for free gets weird a lot of the times. I think the "teach a man to fish" is a better approach and more sustainable for both parties.
