I don't really come up with original ideas as much as I notice things.

I think this is true for most people. A lot of ideas are really just shared knowledge in my opinion. Rarely is an idea 100% new.

if it strikes you as significant that I noticed this taxation DV's effect

The most significant thing is you took the time to make a good case for your perspective. You did not require me to just trust you like many people do. You offered me a debate. Unfortunately I was not in a position then to make a good case for what I believe. And my beliefs will change which I think is a positive.

I also think downvotes being used is mostly based on the environment. I think a world where downvotes are not used is possible but how we get there would need to be a net positive for the whole ecosystem.

I think removing downvotes would be a lot more risky than people appreciate.

I prefer goodwill to money

I wish more people thought this way.

That being said HIVE is very weird. Like we need to make money and do good. Not a crazy idea though. This is how business should work. Lot's of businesses fall prey to greed but these companies do tend to die faster than a company that tries to do good. Also a business that only does good and has no profits fails very quickly. Business can be very positive or very negative and I think everyone has experienced some version of both.

If I make you the beneficiary, I will do my best to remember to explain the reason 😊

I have a lot going on so I may forget but I promise I will try to remember. Throwing in the "try" is a hedge lol

Have a good day. I am going to sleep in some so will be on a bit later than normal.

Cheers!
