I am allowed to tell someone who I have respect for on chain that he lost goodwill with me due to his support of someone that treats me the way you have.

I now question his judgment. To me it seems like something way bigger than HIVE is going on with you and you need someone to take your anger out on.

If you post for rewards, sell most the HIVE, get large auto upvotes, and have little to no engagement, yes… I will downvote that. That is not me being mean. That is not me being a bully.

I think people are allowed to be upset when they get downvoted. Getting downvoted sucks.

But I do not think people freaking out and acting like downvotes are some existential crisis that we cannot get back from is productive.

Your account is inherently more valuable than a new HIVE account because you get auto upvotes. That is something new Hivians do complain about. New Hivians will put a lot of effort into their posts and get no upvotes. Then they will point to an account like yours and say “see! she gets large upvotes and does not put in the same work as me.” I agree that is a problem for new users; it’s super discouraging.

If your account has an unequal advantage over a new account, that is just bad for onboarding. It just doesn’t make sense to new users.

I think all this has been an interesting case study. It shows, if anything, we should be very cautious of auto upvotes. It gives the user receiving them a false sense of security.

valued-customer@valued-customer has made it clear he does not want to build a large HIVE stake. I think that is very smart that he understands the relationship he wants to have with the chain.

Just because I think he is smart does not mean I need to support all his initiatives. I’m not sure what valued-customer@valued-customer could even do to need your support. He speaks very openly about things he believes, many of these beliefs he has, I do not agree with. Him and I have agreed to disagree on these things.

I’m not going to downvote him because he thinks a “whale cabal” exists when I personally just think it’s a ridiculous theory. Maybe he is right? Idk. But I still think it is ridiculous.

Friendly online acquaintances are allowed to have disagreements. I am not looking for an army of sycophants. That’s why I get along so well with valued-customer@valued-customer. Even if he believes telling me certain things is precarious, he still does it. So he gets my respect. But me respecting him does not mean I will support or agree with everything he does. I don’t want him to just do what I say and I think he feels the same way towards me. He is disappointed if anything he can’t convince me of something, he is not disappointed I won’t agree with him. That is because he respects me too.

Often times, people showing someone respect means disagreeing with them. And that’s something him and I do well 😆
