Blackrock currently has Coinbase as the custodian for IBIT.

How long they use Coinbase is anyone’s guess.

Still doesn’t change the not your keys not your coins (nyknyc) as you say.

That being said, most non crypto investors have been using custodians for a long time and Blackrock’s target market is non crypto investors.
