Trump creates a lot of uncertainty in financial markets no doubt about that.

I think if people understand how companies are valued and what the stock market is based on, it creates a lot of opportunity for retail investors to make money off the stock market while Trump is president because he creates so much uncertainty.

Short term Trump’s negotiating style creates a lot of chaos; there is no doubt about that.

Longterm a lot of Trump’s actions haven’t really impacted markets too much.

April 2025 is when the Tarrif talk really got heated. (This was peak uncertainty).

I remember the tariffs talk in financial news and how much it was being pitched as a huge longterm problem.

Ultimately the tariffs never really materialized to have a long term impact to the US stock market.

So people who sold missed out and people who bought did pretty well.

Right now the war with Iran seems to be driving down the stock market the most. I’m not sure how much lower we go but most companies in the S&P 500 have not adjusted guidance due to the war.

If the S&P 500 goes down much more I think I’ll be buying into some index funds myself.

Bitcoin price action is a separate thing (for the most part anyways), I think Bitcoin price is mostly down because the FED has refused to lower interest rates and it is crushing people in the US who live paycheck to paycheck.

You may have picked up on this, I’m pretty apolitical when it comes to investing.

I’ve learned the hard way that if I let politics drive my financial decisions I tend not to do very well when investing.

Thank you for the thoughtful comment. It is always nice reading content from you because I can tell that you really care about what you post. 🙂
