My mom gets hypertension quite often, which gives her headaches so bad she has to stay in bed, unaware of anything else. Every time it happens, my whole family would try to be as quiet as possible to let her rest. Yet last week, when she had another episode and I was getting a warm towel for her, my cat sneaked into the room and kept meowing, while rubbing its head on my mom's hand. I was gonna shoo it away, when my mom stroke its head back, with one arm still pressing onto her forehead, and eyes closed. 22-year-old me was suddenly so jealous of the tiny little cat, right then. When I brought it home mom even said I'd have to take care of it by myself cause she didn't care, yet now it's completely taken over my place.
