Many entrepreneurs like to believe that it's the number of hours you give to your work that matters. But they fail to realize the truth - that it's the quality of work you put into your hours, and not the number of hours you worked, that matters. Two intelligent people will be given a job that is well within their understanding, but one may complete the job twice as fast as the other person.
What's far more important than the number of hours you worked is how much concentration you put into the hours. How focused were you during the working hours. Were you listening to your favorite music while trying to solve a very difficult problem at hand. Or do you just waste time idly thinking of invaluable things during working hours.
This also happens with students. Let's take for example, a student who goes to read, and spends lots of hours in the library; only to be having several thoughts disturbing his mind. Such a student may stare at his book for 5 hours without learning anything. On the other hand, another student who is focused may read for just 1 hour, but learns a lot more.

How well do you know how to multitask - so that you don't waste time that could have otherwise been put into good use. You have to be intense and concentrate your mind on the one thing at hand. After you're done with that, you move to the next. Assuming you have four roughly similar tasks to do in one hour. The simple plan may be to dedicate 15minutes to each task.
During each 15mins, you must ensure that you stay focused on one task and when you're done, that's when you move to the next. You just have to learn to give yourself completely to your working hours, so that you can maximize those hours. Rather than giving only half your mind to your working hours, thereby spending several hours, but achieving less.
