It's so lovely to see that you care for other struggling people; I hope lots more people are like this. People these days are just out for their own benefit, and it's fantastic to see that there are people like you who would instead give that money to people who have minimal means. That was also a smart move from the landlord; they might take the money for themselves instead of returning it.
