The truth is that many Black people (and yes I say Black because American descendents of slaves mostly have no clue which region or tribe they originated from in Africa) in America usually are deterred from talking about hardship by our own families.
There is so much past and current trauma that we as a people group have to deal with on a regular basis and unfortunately most of us have no healthy outlet to release our pain so either we hold on to it our it manifest in our behavior.
After digging into thing I realized that many of us simply have undiagnosed PTSD from our past and we have not properly healed from it.
We have to stop holding on to all this pain and move forward and create family dynamics that allow for the voicing of hardship and struggle in our everyday lives.
