The literal meaning of the word bidah is: The new obsolete matter without any previous sample. And in the terminology of the Shari'ah: In the religion of God which has been introduced in the new system, and there is no comprehensive, general, or codic and specific document for it. Three definitions of this definition are remarkable:

  1. There was no current circulation, in the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and the companions of Qaram, and there was no sample.
  2. Adding this common theme into religion and assuming that it is part of religion.
  3. It is a common practice to introduce and invent any of the Shari'ah without the need of mangoes or khas.

The combination of these three things in the definition is the bidah, which has come to the strict instructions of abstinence from the Shari'ah. This issue of strict prohibition has been repeatedly in the Hadith. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, "Be careful of the new issues of religion. Because every new topic is bidat and every bidat is lapse. " The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said in one of his sermons: "Surely the best of all is the Book of God and the ideal of the ideal of Muhammad. And the worst thing is that (in religion) is newly invented matter. Every new innovation is bidah and every bidat is the result of deviation and the deviation of every deviation is hell.PicsArt_04-11-10.17.00.png
