In my work, you never know when you get a nice ride. But when Ajax is in the final of a European tournament and the next day no-one needs to work because of Ascension Day, you know you can expect something. Unfortunately for my clients, I had planned a night without work too. So I skipped a trip to Londen, Paris and an island called Guernsey.
To quickly forget about the loss of Ajax. I decided to go out with my girlfriend and a few friends. Amsterdam has a 7 days a week nightlife. Normally this could be quite crazy and this night even more because there were a lot of people in town to watch the soccer.
I just woke up when a customer called for a trip to Bergen, North Holland. Because the weather was very nice we want to go to the beach after the delivery. But on the road from the delivery address to the beach we discovered another wonderful place.
The 'Schoorlse Duinen' is the widest dune area in the Netherlands with a width of 5 kilometers. The most famous dune is located in the center of the village of Schoorl. The 'Klimduin' is a 51 meter high sandy mountain which provides direct connection to a large dune and forest area.
It is a nice place to relax and sunbathe. For children it is a great place to play.
It is a big challenge for children to climb this mountain.
On top you can walk in nature and search for large pine cones.
Back down the reward, a big ice cream
On our way back to Amsterdam we enjoyed the beautiful North Holland landscape.
And a last stop in the city of Alkmaar to eat tapas.
A good example of how to combine work with quality private life.
