Thank you Indonesia Hive Community. Every Province in Indonesia has it's own traditional house, one such house is traditional Minangkabau house of west Sumatera.
Traditional houses are a continuing tradition of past residences passed down from generation to generation. The house's construction. With main pillars and stopped foundation, is one of the hallmarks of traditional houses.
Some typical Minangkabau traditional houses are called Anjung which is at the end of the house. The anjung floor is raised, the anjung is an important room when there are ceremonies in the house.
Another characteristic of tradition Minangkabau houses is their Gonjong roof shapes. Ranging from those with two Gonjong like buffalo horns, to those with six gonjongs. For example, a building with two Gonjong is a rice barn.
The rice barn building plays a symbolic role as a display of the prosperity of the traditional house. The decorations on the building are no less important, sometimes even more crowded than the main house.
There are three types of barns, namely the rangking barn, the kapulek barn and the balubul barn. Every village in the Minangkabau region has a traditional hall, where meetings.
In terms of building form, it is not much different from the traditional house. The center of the traditional hall is a large, open room without Walls,not beranjung because it is based on the philosophy of "sitting equally low, standing equally high".
The roofs of places of worship in Minangkabau, without exception, use a anjung shape with stepped roofs.
