Some time ago, I traveled to Lasem, Rembang central Java. Lasem is the name of a sub-district town and has the nickname little China in Indonesia.
Transportation from my resident was by train, then continued by bus and arrived in Lasem. I met old friends and those who would take me to historical tourist attractions. Before going anywhere else, my friends took me to a village about three kilometers from Lasem.
It's called Tuyuhan village one of the culinary places for Lontong Tuyuhan. Tuyuhan is the name of a village with a long history. After arriving at the lontong Tuyuhan stall, it's strategically located on the roadside.
I ordered two portions of lontong Tuyuhan. They're been selling it for generations, now passing it on to the third generation. The word lontong itself means rice wrapped in banana leaves and then steamed. Lontong is Made into triangle.
The lontong Tuyuhan is also served quickly. The lontong is cut into pieces on a plate, then topped with pieces of chicken that have been marinated in spices. The chicken meat is a free-range chicken,then slices of boiled Tempeh are topped with spices and coconut milk is poured over it.
Making it neither thick nor runny, it is then served to the customer's table. It certainly tastes savory and delicious. After finishing Eating, I asked the seller how much it cost ?. The lontong Tuyuhan seller priced it all at 65.000,- IDR or around ($3,77). A traditional food from Lasem,Rembang Central Java.
