According to Investopedia.com:
An investment is an asset or item acquired with the goal of generating income or appreciation.
Many would be thinking of investment something where people put their money into something in a hope of earning some profits.
Investment comes in different types. But the two types of investment strategy I follow on Hive are more convenient for me. Not only for me but for many others as well who can't invest their money directly into Hive or any other place or business.
The two types of investment strategy that I follow are:
- Time Investment
- Saving
Time Investment
You may have heard of the renowned proverb:
Time is Money.
Time is precious and priceless. We can earn money using our time but we can't earn time using money.
I have been active on Hive for some time now and whenever I get an extra time, I turn to Hive and start writing. Doesn't matter where I am, if I have an internet access, I can access Hive through my smartphone and share content.
Whether I am in my office, get some free time, I turn to Hive.
It's simply I don't want to waste my time. I want to utilize it. It could either be writing posts, doing some comments or curating.
Saving
Saving is also a type of investment for me. I have been here on Hive for some time now and I haven't yet cashed out a single penny into my pocket. Yes, I did buy a few other tokens with a little amount of my Hive. But as for the pocket money, I didn't do it yet.
My focus has shifted now more to collecting as much Hive as I can. Build my stake. I would rather be staking my earned Hive instead of cashing it out for my wants.
Irrespective of the fact that my salary is low but I guess that's enough to meet my daily needs. It has given me much of support. Because of that, I am able to save whatever I earn on Hive.
Hopefully some day in future I may be able to earn a good passive income from Hive which I could use for wants as well. But right now, I have put a little break to my wants and nor I want to sell my Hive for it.
Now, I am not saying you shouldn't be cashing out your Hive at any cost. Of course you can if you want. You earned it. But what I recommend to save it instead of spending it on your wants rather than your needs.
Yes, if I needed a few bucks badly, I could cash out some of my Hive but that's something I would do halfheartedly.
The best thing is to focus on saving.
