Train ? This is not a company. We do not pay for someone to be trained. They come in ready to work or they don't.

Well, pretty much everyone ? Steempeak comes to mind. And I am sure that they have spent waay more time and effort into their front end than steemchiller with his toolbox. I could give you 5-10 different people and projects that made investment to the ecosystem.

He won't be full time. And with the perks that come with it, working from home, delivering something that can be done in 3 months in a year, that's a pretty sweet deal. You work your regular job and on the weekends you push a few features. Bam you just doubled your salary depending where you live.

Where are you living where you refuse jobs that pay 8k a month ?

Let alone pay for a server on a platform you’re hoping explodes in popularity.

If you're a good system engineeer, you setup your thing so it can scale, not so it is overkill from the start. And nothing gonna explode in popularity, this is steem, there is like 6k active users on it, and this is a niche tool for power users or developers.

You are implying that server costs are huge, perhaps even more than 2k but I am pretty sure that unless he overkill his setup he can get away with 30-100 euros a month. Depending on use.

As far as breaking proposals up that’s pretty dumb too. It costs $8 just to ask for funding once.

It's a good system to avoid having tons of bad proposals and make sure people really put their effort into it. The guy is asking 2k a month, how is 8$ a problem ?

Once again, servers don't cost that much. You are implying that he pays like 500 euros a month to pay them. This is bullshit. Either he is bad at optimizing his code or he is bad at sizing his servers or both. Or he is not paying that much in servers.

If this proposal run for a year to pay server costs then he should make a proposal with exactly that and another proposal for the features.

If there is ever a point you don’t want this proposal to be paid you can simply remove your vote for free... proposals are paid out in hourly increments, not all at once.

We all know how hard it is to make whales move their votes. As we've seen with witnesses. And the point where I don't want this proposal to be paid is now. And for the whole year.

Tl;dr Take your funds to a plantation and wait for a civil war.

This is the main problem with this proposal, public funds (the sps) will fund a closed source project that he can delete whenever he feels like. So we are benefitting an individual, not the community. If steemworld was open source then all of the funds would actually go towards a tool that doesn't solely depends on steemchiller but if he were to ever stop working on it (which can happen for tons of reasons, including death, which already happened to devs on the chain), the value that the tool brings is still here because anyone can run it (and pay the oh terrible server fees), make updates to it etc.
