When I was younger, I thought grown-ups had it all together. They knew what to do, what to wear, how to talk at dinner parties. I waited for the moment I’d feel that way too. It never quite arrived.

Now, I see it different. Being grown up is just learning how to handle not knowing. It’s making coffee, paying bills, talking to yourself sometimes. I don’t have all the answers. But I’ve made peace with the questions. Some days, I just sit by the window like a housecat and let the world be confusing without me for a while.
