Grant PUD commissioners are evaluating the new premiums for cryptocurrency miners and other customers that could coincide with a new classification of buyer rates for what is considered as Evolution of Industries.
The new rate would be equivalent to the pricing for significant industrial buyers who pay much more than the rates to serve them, so that the main residential, irrigation and commercial areas can be billed below expenses.
At Might, Grant PUD commissioners adopted a plan to provide certainty to prospects involved in cryptocurrency mining, while also safeguarding the fascination of existing Grant PUD clients.
The commissioners want the general public to provide input before a final decision is made as early as July 24th.
The observation of the community regarding the proposed rate course will be taken at the July 10 fee meeting. The conference is at 1 pm in the rate area at the Grant PUD headquarters creating, 30 C Avenue SW in Ephrata. Opinions can also be produced by email at [email protected].
