It is not exactly a story but something less entertaining and decidedly more dangerous than a nice fiction.
With that denomination that this writing is entitled, various types of scams and frauds towards people are brought together using stories told by strangers (generally very talented in the art of deception) with the aim of taking their money or other values.
Unfortunately, many of these deceptions are based on exploiting people's greed, others instead appeal to feelings, naivety and moral values.
In the years of Italian migration to South America, some rogues targeted migrants, took advantage of the lack of mastery of language, their religious and cultural beliefs, so much so did this type of crime that there were even recommendations from the country's government European warning of this modality and behavior to all those who undertook the long journey to become "America".
Something funny to note is that in several countries in South America they think that the invention of the uncle's story refers to another country in the same region when in reality it is a very widespread form of scam throughout the world, some have even fallen into this type of traps in modern Europe, I know of several cases, including one involving the wife of my friend Horacio who was sold in France a fishing reel adapted for the disabled, saying that it was something new and modern that all fly fishermen were buying.
With technological advancement and the spread of social networks, electronic commerce and home banking, you have to pay close attention to what you do, the data that you enter in the pages, the telephone calls and the purchase on the Internet, Anywhere there can be a "guy" disguised as a great opportunity to get easy money or a coveted item at a low price. The pandemic and lockdown are a perfect setting for these types of scams.
When I started on this social network at the beginning of 2018 I also fell into a story from the uncle, I saw a beautiful website of photographs supposedly based on the blockchain whereas in several other applications I could publish my photographs and receive rewards for it. I did not suspect anything and put my password, immediately I began to see messages in other publications from my account with some type of phrase or announcement that I had not written. From there to receiving negative votes and the inclusion of my account in a spam blacklist was a matter of minutes. My reputation dropped to 0 and I didn't know what to do, I got depressed and stopped posting for a while, then some friends convinced me to find a solution to such an injustice, luckily I listened to them and now I'm here talking about this and many others topics that I am passionate about.
My wife told me these days some things that are happening in television programs and that nobody pays too much importance, it is a new variant of the uncle's story, it will surely end like others and there will be no culprits or punishments.
Some of today's TV stars, generally young women graced by beauty, make advertisements for skin, nail, hair or body products, but not as direct advertising but in dialogue with the program's hosts. As something casual, they ask her how they have such beautiful hair or that stunning figure and the interviewee says that she takes this or that thing. Needless to say, the product in question is enormously expensive and most likely harmless at best. It is a story of the uncle, the same type as the advertisements for a weight loss product or a machine to exercise where they put a 25-year-old who has been exercising since he was 15 but whose advertising is aimed at older people, generally sedentary or with various small children and who has no time for anything.
I ask, what difference is there between this and getting the debit card password from a person through some well-crafted trap?
For me there are not too many differences, only the actors change.
We must take care of ourselves and our children and the elderly who are probably the most vulnerable. They have tried to deceive my mother on several occasions, I have her indoctrinated with all this and I always tell her not to take care of anyone, for now we are doing well.
The photographs are my property except those mentioned by the source.
