I recently started a series on why men choose darkness rather than light with the theme THE LIGHT HAS COME but before reading further, I will enjoin you to read the other two series which you can find by clicking on 馃憠 THE LIGHT HAS COME - PLEASURE and THE LIGHT HAS COME - WICKED NATURE.
There are so many reasons why men love darkness rather than light and so far I've stated just two reasons so in this series, I will be giving other two reasons why men love darkness to light. Of course there is a reason why I'm giving all of these reasons but I'm not going to say it in this series, this series is just for the reasons, hehe.
So without further ado, let's dive into the other two reasons why men love darkness to light...
THEY LOVE THE PRAISE OF MEN TO THE PRAISE OF GOD
The third reason why men love darkness rather than light is because of the praises they get from men. This third reason is mostly to those who say they are from God and they claim they were called by God. They find it hard to leave the dark because they are enjoying the honor and reverence that people give to them. Well getting praise from people is not bad but then, when you let those praises cloud your judgement then it is a problem.
In John 12:42-43 KJV
Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue: [43] For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God. In this passage we saw how the leaders were scared of doing the right thing because they fear they will be put away from the synagogue. In most churches today, we see that the church leaders are above corrections and because they don't want to lose their members, they accept anything they do and they will tell you it is not good to judge.
The Bible has told us to speak the truth in love and we should also forgive one another and based on this it is clear that we have the duty of telling ourselves the truth, so if someone does something wrong, we shouldn't be scared of telling them their fault in love and then it is left for them to change or continue. But these leaders have stains all over their garment so it is hard for them to correct their members and so it is also hard for their members to correct them.
THEY LOVE MONEY
Because of their love for money, men choose darkness over light. So many people know the truth but then the benefits they get from what they do is too huge for them to let it go. In Romans 16:17-18 KJV, Paul was addressing the church at Rome saying,
Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. [18] For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.
In his address, he made it clear to them that those people that speak not according to the doctrine of Christ, they do so because of their own belly, that is because of the rewards they stand to get. People are no longer hungry for the truth and they are ready to give anything to someone that will tell them what they want to hear and trust these men and women, they are always available to give you what you want.
So I've been able to convince a few of some reasons why men love darkness to light but then like I said in the introduction, this is just a preamble to the main lesson so you will have to follow me little by little as I unravel what I have for you but please note that all of these things I'm saying are mainly from the Bible so do well to also check if what I have said are in line with the scriptures and if they are not, please don't hesitate to draw my attention to it.
