In life there is one thing that is always constant and that is change! The world keeps changing as time goes by and some are for our good and others are not. As a child I saw how women were treated with less respect because they are considered to be lazy and liabilities even when it was what the society has made a norm for women to be liabilities to themselves and even to the society, so why are they still complaining? Well, I think that the answer I will give to this is, you can't satisfy the wants of humans.
Despite all of these things, some women then were brave enough to break the chains of being a liability and they had to hustle. And it got to a point when I felt the women started becoming even more hardworking than the men and the men started becoming lazy, mind you not all the men. In the 20th century it started becoming a norm for a girl child to learn a skill because it has been observed by our parents that most men now will not want to marry a lady that does not have something doing.
Back then, women in my country were never encouraged to be land owners, some people even regarded it as an abomination, but today I've come to realize that some women can acquire as many plot of land as they can afford and for me that is a really good change and it has a very positive impact for the children and relatives of such women than it has on their spouse especially here in Nigeria. Most men tend to regard such women as boss ladies because they feel she will want to be the head of the family, mostly when the man does not have something tangible doing.
In our society today, nobody worry too much about a lady who has her own house, her own car or cars and even her own business or businesses unlike twenty years ago. In fact, people now encourage the few ladies that are yet to be independent to do so because it's almost one criteria for getting a spouse, hehe. Women are standing their ground on so many things now in our society and the society itself has no option but to allow the change to happen because we all keep learning every day. I believe this is something positive that has changed over the years as it helps us ladies to bring out the best in us.

隆En la vida hay una cosa que siempre es constante y eso es el cambio! El mundo sigue cambiando a medida que pasa el tiempo y algunos son para nuestro bien y otros no. De ni帽a vi c贸mo se trataba a las mujeres con menos respeto porque se las consideraba flojas y pasivas, incluso cuando la sociedad ha hecho norma que las mujeres sean pasivas consigo mismas e incluso con la sociedad, entonces 驴por qu茅 siguen siendo 驴quejumbroso? Bueno, creo que la respuesta que dar茅 a esto es, no puedes satisfacer las necesidades de los humanos.
A pesar de todas estas cosas, algunas mujeres fueron lo suficientemente valientes como para romper las cadenas de ser un lastre y tuvieron que apresurarse. Y lleg贸 un punto en el que sent铆 que las mujeres comenzaron a ser a煤n m谩s trabajadoras que los hombres y los hombres comenzaron a volverse perezosos, no todos los hombres. En el siglo XX, comenz贸 a convertirse en una norma que una ni帽a aprendiera una habilidad porque nuestros padres han observado que la mayor铆a de los hombres ahora no querr谩n casarse con una dama que no tiene nada que hacer.
En ese entonces, a las mujeres en mi pa铆s nunca se les animaba a ser propietarias de tierras, algunas personas incluso lo consideraban una abominaci贸n, pero hoy me he dado cuenta de que algunas mujeres pueden adquirir tantas parcelas de tierra como puedan pagar y para m铆 eso es un cambio realmente bueno y tiene un impacto muy positivo para los hijos y familiares de esas mujeres que en sus c贸nyuges, especialmente aqu铆 en Nigeria. La mayor铆a de los hombres tienden a considerar a estas mujeres como jefas porque sienten que ella querr谩 ser la cabeza de familia, sobre todo cuando el hombre no tiene algo tangible que hacer.
En nuestra sociedad actual, nadie se preocupa demasiado por una dama que tiene su propia casa, su propio auto o autos e incluso su propio negocio o negocios a diferencia de hace veinte a帽os. De hecho, la gente ahora anima a las pocas damas que a煤n no son independientes a que lo hagan porque es casi un criterio para conseguir un c贸nyuge, jeje. Las mujeres se mantienen firmes en muchas cosas ahora en nuestra sociedad y la sociedad misma no tiene m谩s opci贸n que permitir que ocurra el cambio porque todos seguimos aprendiendo todos los d铆as. Creo que esto es algo positivo que ha cambiado con los a帽os, ya que nos ayuda a las mujeres a sacar lo mejor de nosotras.
