Over time I've come to realize that language has a very great importance and impact when it comes to communication. We live in a world where there are thousands of languages and sometimes I just have to praise the name of God because he is indeed an awesome God. Some years back my uncle always told us of how knowing how to speak different languages has saved him in the past and it was really so sad for others who didn't know any.

Languages are important because it's one of the best ways to communicate with people and it's only best if we know as many languages as possible because the languages are almost uncountable. I am an Urhobo girl and unfortunately for me, I don't know how to speak my language fluently but I can hear it very well, funny right! I know. All my life I've lived in my state but I still can't speak my language fluently but when it comes to learning other languages, I'm always interested 🤦‍♀️.

I love my language but I feel reluctant to really learn it because the people around me are not helping matters at all but that's not an excuse for not doing the right thing. I have plans of learning it, but not to the notice of everyone, it will be as a surprise to them, I will do my homework but act like I don't care about the assignment, lol. Well aside my language, the other language that I'd love to know is yoruba language, why? Well I just love the language for some silly reasons and one important reason.

In my country Nigeria, we have three dominant languages which are Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba and out of these three languages, I'd prefer Yoruba because I have so many yoruba friends and it would be really fun to join them in their conversations with their language. I remember I once had a yoruba friend, he was so in love with speaking yoruba and sometimes he even speaks it to me unconsciously and when I try asking him what he said, his facial expression just tells me that he was not happy I did not understand him.

Well if I'm to speak two languages, it would be my native language and Yoruba and I'm so working towards learning and mastering them. All the yoruba people I know here, you guys should know I'm a very big fan of your language and I will be really happy if you will want to teach me 🙈.
