Did you know that to snap your neck, it can provoke a stroke?
Abrupt popping may cause rupture in one of the main arteries of the neck, a condition known as cervical artery dissection. This type of injury tends to increase the risk of stroke, according to Clevaland Cinic. The stroke can occur if, at the rupture of the artery, a blood clot forms at the rupture site blocking blood flow to the brain, after all, everything is interconnected.
Although suffering from a stroke after popping your neck in an attempt to "relax" is a rare occurrence, it can happen!
According to Dr. Robert Glatter, a physician who works in the emergency department of Lenox Hill Hospital in New York, there is no 100% safe way to snap your neck: "It's better to simply avoid doing it to prevent potential complications."
