I think all journal writers are collectors. It's hard to resist a pretty journal especially when you don't need one. The key to using your journals is to write whatever you need to at the time. Sometimes, it random thoughts that I need to get out of my head, sometimes its plans and ideas, sometimes it's deep thoughts, or all the things I did that day or will do, sometimes i need to remind myself what I'm grateful for. Make it whatever you want and don't feel stuck by a theme or purpose it can change from day to day.
