Perhaps the court system in America is very different from where I am (though here, also, there is a lot of leaning towards the woman, in a divorce). Perhaps it's a naive answer, but what does a man get out of marrying a woman? Love, and support, and someone to steady you when you hit rock bottom? Obviously idealist here, obviously a lot of marriages aren't like that. Precisely. Society's made it that if your marriage don't work, you just get another, so nobody works at theirs anymore. And while I agree from a rational, cautious perspective with everything you've said, it's an argument that completely ignores the bond between two people that may make them want to get married in the first place.
and a court that isn't completely against you seeing your children.
That, to me, is terrifying. And surely, there have been a lot of abuses perpetrated against fathers that should've never happened. but I don't think the answer is for the guy to say screw this, this isn't gonna serve me, so I'm out. After all, that still panders to the attack on the family unit as a whole. One way or another, be it through casual hook-ups or the vilification of the opposite gender, the family, the marriage, the decision to devote yourself to another and stick by them is obliterated.
