I don't know about you, but I don't like store calendars. I've only found a few that appeal to me, over the years, and this year I haven't found one that I like.
I just can't go for the cute kitties or the lovely landscapes, they mean nothing to me. I want something that represents me - that represents my family - something that makes me smile when I see it. Now, there are, of course, calendars with a specific TV show, like The Walking Dead (we had one of those last year - my Mom's a fan) or Game of Thrones, but they cost a bloody fortune.

I don't really want to spend twenty dollars on a calendar...

So, I found the perfect solution - make my own 2018 calendar. It's much cheaper and it actually says something about me.

So, without further ado... I give you...

Rock'n'Roll 2018

It's super easy to do. You just have to settle on twelve favorite pictures that you want to keep seeing in the following year. Try to choose a large resolution, so that you don't get a pixelated 2018. But not too big, 'cause the website will crop it!

On to the website. After an unsuccessful attempt on a different site (unsuccessful in the sense that I'd done about 8 months before I realized I was only saving the pictures without the actual calendar!), I came upon this wonderful website, Pically Calendar, and it did the trick.

It allowed me to choose different templates, and although I went with the classic, I'm sure you can have some fun and find something you like. You can also choose your own calendar font. Cool, huh?

It works on a drag&drop system, which is, in my opinion, very convenient. So, I just selected the month and year for each one, dragged my picture and hit 'download calendar'.

I was very pleased with the results, 'cause the pictures were nice and clear and it didn't take a lot of time.

I made it so that almost every picture is representative of the month it's in. For example, I'm going to see Ozzy Osbourne with my folks in June, so I put a picture of Ozzy in that month. And so on :)

If you like, you can also set events for the upcoming year on your calendar and set it to show holidays (I prefer without).
And taaa-daaa, you have your very own 2018 calendar, unique to you! Imagine that no one will have the exact same calendar on their wall. Awesome, right?

DIY Calendar - because life's too short to be looking at nondescript landscapes!
