Suck it, Bloomberg, you arrogant ass. You are filled with hubristic conceit and you haven't a clue what you're talking about.

I grew up in a farming village, and back when I was in the financial services business, I called on thousands of the most successful farmers across the country. They were not only the most virtuous and down-to-earth people, they were some of the smartest and savviest people I ever met. We used to joke about how much better and harder the questions were that we'd get from farmers than from every other profession.

Many of the farmers I've known have four-year science degrees. Farming is three-dimensional chess played against invisible opponents.

What's more alarming, is that it's not just the farmers he's degrading. He thinks that anyone who lives in middle America automatically has less "gray matter," and questions whether teachers in those states can even teach, or if the kids are capable learning. Its the typical city slicker arrogance and disdain for us dumb hicks in fly-over country.

In a world where the division of labor has meant that more people are becoming narrow specialists, the farmer epitomises the antithesis of specialisation. They have so many balls in the air, so many plates spinning simultaneously; in nearly every aspect of their multifaceted business there is tremendous complexity and little margin for error. In addition to being horticulturalists and husbandrists, they have to be master planners, master mechanics, expert purchasers, wheeler-dealers, market and weather forecasters, tax experts, and financial gurus.
