If someone is of God, we can know with his heart of love toward other people. Anyone can claim that he is of God but if his deeds are evil, then he is of the Devil. It will be revealed by your character if you are of God or not. The commandment is we should love one another.
John 13:35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
You can't show love to yourself alone, you will have to extend it to other people as well. And you can't love others by not joining the church of God. It serves as a medium for your righteousness to be established.
Just like a learner will need the service of a teacher and viceversa.
1 John 3:10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.
Colossians 3:13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
Colossians 3:14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
Colossians 3:15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
The motto of Christian should be "One for All and All for One". We should live and die together as one body of Christ. If one suffer, other brethen suffer too, and if one rejoice, other brethen should do do too. Helping, loving, forgiving, doing good to one another should be our priority.
2 Corinthians 7:3 I speak not this to condemn you : for I have said before, that ye are in our hearts to die and live with you.
Schism, division, separation is not allowed in the church of God. In the church there are diversity of operations but we are directed by one God. God is the one working we are merely his co-workers, his followers, his labourers.
3 John 1:10 Wherefore, if I come, I will remember his deeds which he doeth, prating against us with malicious words: and not content therewith, neither doth he himself receive the brethren, and forbiddeth them that would, and casteth them out of the church.
We should love one another in deeds and truths rather than in words. Show mercy to other people. It is a fruit that we must possess if we are of God, it should be seen in the congregation of God.
1 John 3:18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.
Let us not wait for people to wait help us we must seek for help when needed. Anyone is position to help should do so, because he that do good lends out to God and God shall surely repay and reward him back.
We should be bound by love which is the law of perfection.
