There are diverse of churches nowadays, about 50,000 churches all over the world. We have many denominations like The Catholics, Seven Adventists, The methodist, Apostolic, Foursquare church, Assemblies of God, Jehovah witnesses and so on but there is only one church in the bible which is the Church of God. It has been in existence in the first century even before we are born.
The church is the body, where the children of God gather to share and learn from the word of God. The first members of the Church of God were the Pharises and the Saducees The name of God is a hiding place, a defense and a strong tower.
Colossians 1:18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
We should not worship any animal of any kind because they are creatures but we should worship and serve only God the creator. Those animals can be tamed by Man because we are higher than them in the order of creation according to science we are animals but we are superior than animals so we should not bow down to worship them.
James 3:7 For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind.

So you have to accept the gospel before you can become a member of the church of God. The gospel is the doctrine to be obeyed and taken care of.
