I know the feeling. I started back at the gym in December last year. I'm squatting almost my entire body weight (another 10kg, and I'm there) - and deadlifting about 90% of my body weight, too.
But it isn't just those two big compound movements.
The satisfaction when someone hands you something and they say "careful, its heavy" and you take it and it feels like nothing builds such confidence in yourself that it can't be put into words.
Last week when I shot a four hour long event, I used my new 85 f/1.2 and by all logical measures, that thing is heavy. It felt like nothing compared to what I've been throwing myself up against in the gym.
It makes me a more useful future corpse, my time in the gym, and it has done entire wonders for my mental health. Keep lifting. :)
