I think every writer just wants to be read. It feels like Hive is a small corner of the Internet where that still happens. I give copies of my writing to friends and never hear back. I ask if they've gotten into it, and the biggest insult is that they don't even know where the hard copies I gave them, with hand written notes tailored to them, have even gone.

I stay because I know that people do read. They engage. The rest of the Internet feels simultaneously like a well and a timeline. Both are a spiral.

Perhaps hive is too, but monetary value does not need to exist for something to be valued and precious.

I'm scraping up on ten years. I am debating whether I even acknowledge that this time round.
