The energy inputs into production also govern the cost of things. Electricity is also quite literally money in our modern economy. I had solar panels installed on my roof two days ago, and while it is forecast to rain over the next few days, over the next 25 years or whatever the warranty period is for this stuff, I will at least 90% less dependant on the electrical grid.

Next up: an electric vehicle with a battery in it that can power the house at night via Vehicle to Grid tech, then I'll be free of the fuel stations, too. :)
