Are the plates and serving dishes in the first few photos used just for decoration / ceremony, or would people use these day to day?

They're beautiful. I remember my Greek grandparents having similar ones around the house but they'd never use them, they'd stay always in a display cabinet.

Now, at my house, we just have plain white plates here, no adornment. Whatever fit in the cupboard, and whatever can be cleaned easy.
