I disagree with this generalization. I am very concerned and vocal about my finances. I am independent and earn a salary and support myself. I think that today, most modern women are comfortable talking about money as long as they are the ones earning a part of it. It is an assumption of the past that money-making is the responsibility of the Man of the house and therefore women do not or should not talk about it. Saying that women are not the earners is very old fashioned.
