this is our weekly interview post. We want to sharpen your senses for HIVE musicians, that´s why we made it our goal to interview a new musician every week.
There are a tremendous amount of very talented musicians on our HIVE Blockchain. Too many of them are going unnoticed. We at HMVF and Blocktunes are here to change that. Our interview series will let you get a look behind the curtain of some of these artists. Their music, their process, and their goals. Let us come together to support the music of HIVE.
Of course these posts will also have the purpose of collecting funds for HMVF, to be able to create as many music videos for these awesome artists as possible. 🎵
We wish you lot´s of fun with the interviews and consider supporting these awesome artists please!
This week´s musician is Ugochill (@ugochill)
Ugochill is a music project by Serbian/Dutch veteran of Indie music, Alex Rado.
Alex functions as a standalone independent artist, producer and promoter, but his works also include collaborations with various friends and artists from around the world.
As such it has existed for more than 20 years and it took part in pioneering much of what we have today considering indie music and its various use of the internet.
Name of the project came about, after I heard good friend of mine and guest on many tracks, rapper MC Srah Ofah, while he was describing feeling one had while making and producing music at home studio with me (and at those days that was kind of new and revolutionary thing to do and have, and I had it and did it.)
So, he said something in order of. "Man, this is yougochill, you are yougochill, and it hit my bell right away and I just said, man..that’s it. That’s the name. Love it. ☺
The sound of Ugochill is mix of various genres and approaches to music, but at the base it is guitar-based rock music.
List would be way too long as I’m personally huge fan of music, listening to it relentlessly for at least 4 decades, all of the time. Mainstream or Indie.
But I would probably never get the love for it, if it were not for The Beatles, just like it happened with so many other people. Obviously same trick worked on me to, ☺
I have experienced various ways of making music. Working together with other artists or on my own. Sometimes songs or tracks would be the result of focused writing, but most of the time it would come as result of jamming, and when something interesting comes up, it would be taken from there further on.
Music that I have made and will make is all about love, respect, care, friendship, family, wonder.
Everything about it is kind of intimate.
Independent and intimate, and as such is probably relatable to some people.
Those who love guitars, might enjoy it too.
Well…Music is big part for sure, but Hive environment is something much larger than just music.
Which is the reason why I’m fully interested and motivated to participate in it.
It can only help. For music there is not one single downside, taking part on the Hive as artist, curator, or even a supporter or fan is all beneficial. I’m also honored to take and be part of the Rising Star Game development and family.
It depends what one sees as success.
The music industry is totally saturated and my honest advice would be similar to the general advice on what to do with crypto for example.
As they say, invest what you can lose, be independent, patient, persistent, have something else going on too and go step by step.
If you expect quick results and gains and you leverage yourself too much, you might also be quickly burned out and end up with zero on your internal exchange.
Next year will see the new Ugochill album release and various collaborations.Plan is to simply continue and expand on doing what I have already been doing for as long as possible.
Support this awesome artist and help HER/HIM being able to continue making great music!
