this is our weekly interview post. We are running a little late this week due to lots of weekend activities. 😄 Sorry!

We want to sharpen your senses for HIVE musicians, that´s why we made it our goal to interview a new musician every week.
There are a tremendous amount of very talented musicians on our HIVE Blockchain. Too many of them are going unnoticed. We at HMVF and Blocktunes are here to change that. Our interview series will let you get a look behind the curtain of some of these artists. Their music, their process, and their goals. Let us come together to support the music of HIVE.

Of course these posts will also have the purpose of collecting funds for HMVF, to be able to create as many music videos for these awesome artists as possible. 🎵

This week´s musician is STEM73 (Hive account@stefano.massari).

STEM73 (aka Stefano Massari) is a true multi-genre artist. He has the unique ability to switch styles and create unique compositions that fit perfectly with other songs each style. This talent makes him an extremely interesting artist to chat with.

First off, how did the artist name STEM73 come about?

stem73 is formed by “ste” from “m” and “73”.
“ste” are the initials of my name.
“m” is the initial of my surname.
“73” is the year I was born.

How would you describe your sound?

My sound has different origins, three in particular, funky, bossa nova and contemporary music.

Which artists have had the greatest influence on you?

The funk music band Tower of Power, the Brazilian composer Antônio Carlos Jobim and the composer and pianist Michael Nyman

What is your songwriting process? How does a song come together for STEM73?

In different ways.
1 - If I come up with a melody I build the music around that melody.
2 - If I come up with a guitar riff I build the whole song around that riff.
3 - If I come up with a bass line, I build the rest of the song around that bass line.
4 - If I come up with a drum groove that inspires me, I build the bass over that beat and then the rest of the song.
5 - If I'm on the piano and I come up with notes that I like, I translate the chords from what I did on the piano and then I do the rest.

What do you hope that the listener takes away from your music?

The pleasure of driving while listening to my music. I have always loved listening to music while driving a car. The experience of a journey accompanied by music is one of the most beautiful experiences I have had.

How do you think being a part of the Hive blockchain will help your music career?

The HIVE community is a genuine community and I am not afraid to share my music within HIVE. I hope that some users who follow me on HIVE also appreciate my music, but this is not crucial for me. In the meantime, HIVE gives me the opportunity to share it by writing and making posts about it also.

Share a tip for other hard-working artists out there searching for success in the new music industry?

I recommend doing a few things and quality, I have never appreciated quantity.

What does the future hold for STEM73?

My future can only be bright, I can make the music I want and share it with the new blockchain technology. My musical vitality is now reactivated with blockchain.
