Tasmanian tiger or Thylacine was the largest known carnivorous marsupial of modern times. It was native to the Australian continent and went extinct in the 20th century. However, luckily, almost a century ago, a Tasmanian tiger pup was preserved in alcohol after its death, which made it possible to sequence the whole DNA of Tasmanian tiger.

At the moment, its not possible to resurrect an extinct specie, with just its DNA information, but scientists are hopeful that we would be able do so in the near future.
