We get told daily to eat our suggested (like as if we had a choice) course of fruit, vegetables, grain and berries, or if we don’t, our bodies become rifted with health problems. Sure, I would love to eat wholesome food straight out of a can, from the supermarket shelf.
What do you mean, food doesn't grow on shelves! Sure it dose, I pick it off on Monday and poof, there is new ones there again on Wednesday, just like that. Of course it is real food, it says so on the can?! Why would Edgells or Heinzs or any of the other food processing companies lie to us?
What about the farm fresh fruits and veggies in my supermarket grocer, surely they are real, obviously they go out back of the shop and pick them straight from the farmers field, right?
Truth be told, in these days of pesticides, gas preserving and GMO foods, we do not know what is going into our foods or even if it really is healthy for our bodies. Even our meats and dairy products are either directly or indirectly effected by chemicals and pesticides.
Well lets shop organically! That would be great and do so whenever possible, but unfortunately, because organic is a nich market (it is slowly gaining public popularity) these foods can be slightly pricier than supermarkets and with people on a tight budget this unfortunately will go by the wayside. Farmer markets can be a best of both worlds, fresh organic and not too pricy but be sure that they really are organic grown with little to no chems.
Or if there is a small area of lawn that you can spare, why not grow your own. Avoid chemicals by growing in a green house or similar. You would be surprised how much you can grow in a small area! And the food really dose taste so much better fresh from your own garden.
So think about what you buy at the shop, just because it is convenient, doesn't mean it is good.
