Regardless of the difference, which you have very didactically clarified, I think that the results here are perfect. I don't know much about technical aspects of drawing; I pencil-draw as an amateur, but I loved how colors and light combined with these flowers.
The darker areas certainly look more solid, I guess, but it works just fine to me :)
The leaves still look flexible enough and the petals soft and delicate enough.
