Not always the case for most runnaway youth, but there is always hope they'll be sheltered by the right person and do the right thing.
We recently had a visit of a nephew on my mother-in-law.
His mother died some years ago at a time he was already veering towards drugs and petty crimes.
He ended up being so much trouble for everybody (fights, thefts, etc.) that he was kicked out of the family.
He paid some time, got out only worse. He had left the country, was in Ecuador for some time, probably got in trouble there and came back in one of those "back-to-the-motherland" flights the Maduro government are using to prove that the rest of latin america is hell and poor delusional venezuelans come back to the only place where they can prosper.
Well, he stayed for one night, left the suitcase and came back every day to get something out and sell, to buy drugs.
He sold every item in the suitcase.
A lost soul of sorts, like so many out there.
Your stories are very inspirational. They make us think about how much we could do to save those souls, if there is still time for it.
