지구온난화는 가뭄, 홍수 등의 기상이변을 유발하는 전지구적 현상입니다.
Global warming induces extreme weather events in globally such as droughts, floods, and heavy snow.
그렇다면, 이 지구온난화의 끝은 과연 무엇일까요?
So, what is the end of the global warming?
아마 빙하기일것 입니다.
It may be the ice age.
지구온난화와 빙하기는 서로 반대 현상을 의미하는 단어지만, 서로 밀접한 관련을 갖고 있습니다.
The global warming and the ice age denotes opposite phenomenon, but they are very closely related.
잘 알려 져 있듯이 지구온난화는 온실기체에 의해 지구가 뜨거워지는것을 의미합니다.
As is well known, the global warming means that the earth's temperature is heated by greenhouse gases.
중요한 점은 지구온난화가 지구의 온도를 균일하게 올리지 않는 것입니다.
The important thing is that the global warming does not raise the earth's temperature uniformly.
아래 그림은 약 10년간 지구의 온도 변화 편차를 나타낸 그림입니다.
The below figure shows the earth's temperature anomaly during about 10 years.

그림에서 볼 수 있는것 처럼, 지구온난화는 적도지역에 비해 극지역의 온도를 더욱 더 많이 상승시킵니다.
As shown in above figure, the global warming raises the temperature over the polar region than equatorial region.
이 불균등한 가열에 의해 적도지역과 극지역의 온도경도가 감소합니다.
The ununiformly heating decreases the temperature gradient between the polar and equatorial region.
이는 적도지역의 과잉된 에너지를 극지역으로 수송할 필요가 없어짐을 의미합니다.
It means that the excess energy over the equatorial region does not have to transport toward the polar region.
이로 인해 해류와 대기 순환이 정지하게 되어 빙하기가 시작되게 됩니다.
It causes the ocean current and atmospheric circulation to stop and the ice age begins.
일반적인 관점에서, 빙하기는 지구 전체가 얼음으로 뒤덮이는 현상으로 알려져있지만,
In general, ice age is well known as the phenomenon that the entire earth is covered with ice,
실제 빙하기는 적도지역은 매우 뜨거우며 얼음이 중위도로 확장된 상태를 의미합니다.
the actual ice age means that the equatorial region is very warm and ice extend to midlatitude.
