It is mostly found around the world and most of the people do not know the benefits of this amazing tree. They are not only for human consumption but also a source of living for a lot of people especially in Africa.

1. Palmtrees are mostly found in places like beaches because it is believed to control heavy breeze and winds. They are not only used there, here in Nigeria you’ll see them planted in big environment, schools and homes.
2. Palmtree produces fruits called palm kernel. it can be eaten raw, roasted and are used to make soups e.g Banga soup.
3. It is used to make Palm oil which is mostly included in African food and the shafts are also used by farmers to burn bush, it also serves as lanterns to lighten the environment majorly in rural areas.
4. Palmtree are used in making broomsticks using its leaves… which has been a source of income for a lot of people. The thin stick in between the leaf is used as broom.

Amazing thing about this tree is, it doesn’t die by just cutting down all its leaves and fruits so far you didn’t cut it down from the root, it keeps growing and growing.

Most interesting part is they can live for 7 to 8 decades and some 100years depends on the environment.
