Understanding the bible is a God -given gift to men, To understand we need the help of the almighty, whose words are written in the Bible....Bro Eli
Growing I loved reading the bible I find the stories in the bible fascinating, so I would often start from genesis and read down following the storyline, then some folks use to come to our house to teach us the children my books of Bible stories, but as i grow older that began to change gradually.
Like Paul would say when I was a child I think like a child now I'm a man I out away childish things, the more I kept reading the bible I began to make more sense to me than just reading stories, anytime i would read the bible I began to get revelations, insight, like someone is talking to me, and at the same time I get that understanding of that passage and I would often feel like explaining it better to someone, I always get fresh revelation and understanding of scriptures whenever I study the bible...
That was when i knew that this is the spirit of God revealing this things to me.
As Bro Eli said in his teachings understanding the bible is not a common thing the bible is much more than just a book filled with letters, they are God's own spoken word encampsulated in letters with the inspiration of God given to men to write down his words both past present and what is to come which ends in the book of REVELATION
THE UNDERSTANDING OF SCRIPTURES IS NOT GIVEN TO ORDINARY PEOPLE: it is the spirit of God that gives understanding to men(including women and children), remember the bible says that the spirit of God bears witness with our spirit that we are the sons of God, that means first of all there has to be an agreement between your spirit and God's spirit for there to be a synergy.
So why do the well-learned and well educated people not understand the bible it is so because first the spirit of God is not in them, to teach them all things and to bring them to their remembrance,
in which the god of these world have blinded their minds which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ who is the Image of God shine on them2Cor. 4:4
Like I would always say since they believe so much in their wealth or circular wisdom and not in God almighty, the god of this world which is the enemy of God had blinded their eyes, block their minds so no matter what they do, they cannot understand, to understand the spirit of GOD has to come dwell in a man for that to happen, and the spirit cannot come untill there is a williness to accept the person of the lord Jesus Christ as our lord and saviour, untill a man come to that point there us no level of his learenedness or education that will enable him to understand, because the bible is not of this world, but the very word of God, and so it is the spirit of God that will help a man to understand better and not by mare acquisition of circular wisdom...
