Welcome to a new update post from HiveDebit I'm @JThomasewsky, the developer and creator of HiveDebit. I built this project for the Hive community to expand what we can do with Hive and give new users an experience they simply can't get from most other cryptocurrencies.
When I started to create HiveDebit I didn't think about having an App for Android devices or Apple devices, I was just thinking about a PWA but community asked for more and I took advantage of the features that Android and Apple has for everybody.
First of all, why an Android App if PWA runs okay?
Because I wanted to enhance this 3 things:
Speed, because we wanted to get rid of the laggy experience we sometimes had with web-based Points of Sale, especially on devices with limited RAM, slower CPUs or fewer resources. A payment app needs to feel fast and responsive, even on modest hardware.
Security, because a native app gives us much tighter control over authentication, local storage and the overall payment flow, reducing our dependence on the browser environment and giving us more control over how sensitive information is handled.
And finally, NFC, because Android gives us access to something particularly powerful: HCE - Host Card Emulation. This allows an Android phone to behave like an NFC card, opening the door to one of the most interesting features we've built for HiveDebit.

With HCE integration I can show to you a new updated feature.
We started hivedebit like this:
"Why do I need my phone to pay when I have an NFC Card to pay"
"I can not get a NFC Card in my country for a reasonable price"
So it doesn't matter if you have or not a NFC card, you can enjoy the same experience, with the same speed and convenience.
In this first version of Android you can find the same features that iPhone version have.
Create Invoices in different currencies and charge with Bitcoin Lightning (NFC or QR), HBD in QR or HiveDebit Card.
Check your balance and receive notifications if you sent or received a transaction.
Send HBD or Hive from the app using just an username.
Create a card paying with Hive or Lightning (Powered by 
Invite someone to Hive creating an invite link.
Creating a Hive account from an invite link.
Scan HBD QR's from the app and pay them. (Log In is required)
There's only one feature I couldn't add to the android version.
Airdrop Payments
On a iPhone device you can send money using Airdrop (2 iPhones touching each other or close to u (between 9-15 meters of distance MAX), the same for invitations when you want to get someone into Hive.
But I made a compatibility feature for this, if you have an iPhone and want to Invite someone to Hive just create an invitation link and you can show a QR that they can easily scan with the Camera or Google Lens depending on the Android phone and get a new account in less than 2 minutes!
Virtual Card on Android
If you have an android device and want to test the Virtual Card you only need to log in with an account and boom you have your virtual card, you can pay with it only to HiveDebit app in other Android phone, I'm doing all I can to get also iPhones to receive payments with the virtual card, iPhone have more regulations and limitations with that kind of use and the readers.
Remember the virtual card is free, no fees and gives you more freedom, and you are not gonna lose your HiveDebit Card as I do every single 5 minutes when I'm testing the app
Right now, I'm in the process of submitting the App to Play Store but It can take 1-2 weeks, but you can use the Signed APK I made for u, if you want to try it you can install it through this website.

I have some interesting ideas to enhance HiveDebit and Hive but they are a little bit more crazy and expensive, but keep in touch to see what else we add to HiveDebit!
I haven't told this cause I forgot when I did it, but if you are in Colombia and want to buy HBD you can do it through ANY NATIONAL BANK from Colombia, and soon with a Credit or Debit card, it's really simple and low fees (Only the processor fees)
