It was an evening of joy and gladness when I heard of the student's return to school. For almost 2 months now the students have been at home though it coincided with the summer break. Schools were forcefully closed due to the said insecurity and were asked to stay home until a formal announcement is passed.
I had so many plans for the school children which were just withheld due to the incident.
Finally, they are back to school so our plans can be fulfilled. The future of the next generation cannot be separated from the quality of education they get. So many children have great prospects but they lack the basic amenities in school. Their parent cannot say to be doing little because the economic situation we found ourselves in today is humanly not favorable.
This is why we need to contribute our quota to make sure that the future of these young ones is modeled properly.
This new session will formally start on the 19th of this month. I plan to help 10 children from the public school get the basic educational materials. This includes and is not limited to books, pencils, an eraser, and a filled bag.
Public schools here don't pay school fees just examination fees and PTA lavy which is 200 naira for each student. So, for the 10 students, their total fees will be 4,000 nairas. I will have to ascertain the current cost of the writing materials.
I couldn't contain my joy and I lack the patience to wait after I heard of the school resumption. I also know that you will be happy to hear the news too.
Thanks to all our previous sponsors, we hope that through this platform many children will get the basic materials they need in school.
