The purpose is to use HBD for daily purchases via HBD point of sale purchase mechanisms or convert it to bitcoin via the existng bitcoin-hbd swap mechnisms.
The overall goal is reducing selling pressure on Hive.
The borrower is borrowing against an asset near it's low of a bear market, which is theoretically less risky then borrowing against the same asset in a bull market.
The proposal preserves the capitol from the DHF and uses profits from the program, not DHF, to be self-sufficent in 30-60 days. A track record which would beat the record of most funded DHF proposals, many of which have continuously required DHF funding for years.
I am surprised that a proposal which proposes nearly 100% preservation of DHF capitol and self sufficiency in 30-60 days is drawing such ire.
