The Beauty Of Up Close and Personal Ruleset
Hello friends and splinterlands players, how are you doing today?
In this splinterlands theme of the week, we are to showcase our skills when up close and personal rule is given. I have encountered many players with different skills when this rule is given; the players I feared most are players that used Mylo Crowling summoner- All friendly monsters receive the thorns ability at the start of the battle.
Therefore, whenever Earth summoners are given, I always be sensitive in selection; unless I forget myself. I have fought against players that used Mylor Crowling in countless times. I lost most of the battles I played with them. Using of Mylor Crowling summoner made up close and personal so tiring to play ⏯️.
Until a day I was given, and I had the opportunity to use dragon summoners. Using a dragon summoner gave me the opportunity to use Quora Towershead- as we all know that as Quora Towershead defeats an opponent, it gets +1 stats which makes it more dangerous in the battle.
When I used Quora Towershead in this particular battle, my opponent came up with Mylo Crowling.
I was happy to defeat my opponent that particular day, that was when I started using Quora Towershead whenever up close and personal rule was given.
But, there were circumstances that Earth summoners were not given. The following monsters are used:
Monsters with demoralized ability: There were battles where my opponent used two monsters with demoralized ability, and used monsters with thorns ability. It was difficult for me to defeat his/her monsters because all the melee of my monsters were reduced to 1. The opportunity monsters I used could not have an effect on monsters with the smallest health. This was because my opponent used Dumacke Orc- a monster with shield ability and also retaliate ability. I lost the battle without destroying one of his/her monsters.
Using monsters and summoners with thorns ability: this is most dangerous aspect of This rule. Since only monsters with melee attack are allowed, there is no how the health and armor of such monsters will not be damaged because there must be a contact between them. Each time a monster with thorns ability is attacked by melee monsters, it damages the health or armor of attackers. Therefore, using monsters or summoners with thorns ability can destroy monsters.
Monsters with shield ability: don't underestimate this type of monsters in this kind of battle; they have ability to delay from elimination. There were cases when I used this type of a monster as the last monster; the opponent's monsters couldn't destroy the monster.
There was a day I used Dumacke Orc as the last monster in one of up close and personal rule; my opponent came up with a strategy to eliminate me from behind. He used 3 sneak monsters in that particular battles. As those sneak monsters were attacking Dumacke Orc with retaliate ability; Dumacke Orc was also attacking back because of the retaliate ability. That was how I destroyed all his monsters. Therefore, it is good to use this kind of a monster.
Monsters with Dogbe ability: these type of monsters also work in this battle. In a particular battle I remembered vividly, from the beginning of the battle to the end, my monsters could not target a monster with dodge ability. I watched for 3 times to understand what really happened; that was when I realized that my opponent used a monster with dodge ability.
Summoners and Monsters that gives additional+1 melee attack to friendly monsters: Since it is up close and personal rule, some of the players I was paired with preferred to use summoners that give additional +1 attack to all melee monsters such as Tarsa and Malric Inferno Silvershield Knight, Thane Newsong etc.
These cards can deliver victory to you.
Monsters with Flying ability: if you watch the battle I shared bellow, it was difficult to eliminate gloridax Soldier in this battle because of its flying ability. Forgotten One only had opportunity to attack Gloridax Soldier once on this battle; Forgotten One missed attack several times while Radiate Brute also missed the attack.
Even when the Tenyii Striker missed the attack when he led the attack; he also missed Pelacor Bandit. This is the reason it is good to use monsters flying ability in up close and personal rule.

Up Close and Personal: Only monsters with melee attack maybe used in battles.
This was the major reason my opponent used tarsa because it gives +1 additional melee to all friendly monsters; that was the reason all his monsters have high melee attack.
He also used disintegrator to reduce the melee of all my monsters. I was only depending on the speed and opportunity monsters such as dragon jumper and Isgald Vorst.
Old One Out: Only monsters with odd mana costs maybe used in battles.

Gloridax Soldier was the first monster that came to my mind because of its shield ability and flying ability. Forgotten One missed the attack due to its flying ability and also Radiated Brute. Gloridax Soldier difficult to attack and eliminate because of its two abilities. Despite the fact that she was in the front battle, it wasn't eliminated in this battle.
Flying Squid

Due to Flying Squid's reach ability, there was no perfect position than second position. If it was the Flying Squid that led the attack, it would have been eliminated in the first round, because it doesn't have shield and flying abilities.
Flying Squid contributed to my victory in this battle.
Isgald Vorst

One of the reasons I used dragon summoner was to use Isgald Vorst monster. I knew Isgald Vorst would be advantageous to me in this battle due to its opportunity and bloodlust abilities. If it was a foosball match, Isgald Vorst would have been given man of the match. He was the one that did the major job eliminated 5 of opponent monsters.

Dragon jump was very important to eliminate the monsters with smallest health; damaging the health of opponent's monsters that made it possible for me Isgald vorst to eliminate them. This is the reason, using two monsters with opportunity ability is beneficial in up close and personal ruleset.
Pelacor Bandit

Pelacor was the only sneak monster I used in this battle. I believed that using opportunity monsters were better than sneak monsters. That was the reason I used two opportunity monsters- Dragon Jumper and Isgald Vorst. Due to a demoralize monster that my opponent used which reduced the melee of all my monsters; the demoralize made pelacor bandit useless, it's effect was not felt I'm this battle.

This monster was to waste time. I knew the monster could not do anything in that position, but I needed the monster to delay opponent monsters.
🔥🔥Round 1🔥🔥
In the beginning of the battle, it was Dragon jumper that started the attack. Dragon jumper attacked Uraeus and damaged the armor; then, Pelacor bandit attacked Radiated Scorcher, damaged two health; ****Isgald Vorst**** finally eliminated it. The stats of Ishald Vorst increased by +1.
Flying Squid and Gloridax Soldier attacked the Forgotten One, damaged the armor.
Uraeus and Tenyii Striker attacked Hardy Stonefish and eliminated it. On the first round, it was 50/50.
The forgotten One and Radiated Brute missed The attack.
🔥🔥Round 2🔥🔥
5 monsters were left in the each lineup. As usual ***Dragon Jumper ***was the first monster to attack because of the high speed, though by the time Isgald Vorst eliminated Radiated Scorcher, it's speed was equal to the Dragon Jumper.
In the second round, Dragon Jumper damaged two health from Uraeus, Isgald Vorst finally eliminated it. The stats of Isgald Vorst increased again by +1; by this time the melee of Isgald Vorst was 4, and speed 7, armor 5 and health 6.
Uraeus did not have chance to attack in the second round.
Tenyii Striker and Forgotten One missed the attack; Radiated Brute damaged the armor of Gloridax Soldier.
By the end of round 2 I was left with 5 monsters while!y opponent was left with 4.
🔥🔥Round 3🔥🔥
No monster was eliminated; the health of monsters was massively damaged in this round. The health of Radiated Brute was massively damaged by Isgald Vorst and Dragon Jumper.
Forgotten one and Tenyii Striker missed the attack; Radiated Brute damaged the health of Gloridax Soldier at this time.
🔥🔥Round 4🔥🔥
Since the speed of Isgald Vorst has increased to 7. It was the first monster to attack, it attacked Radiated Brute and eliminated it; it's stats increased by +1 again.
At this round, Forgotten One's health was damaged to one. this was the first time forgotten One targed Gloridax soldier, damaged 3 health from her.
Tenyii Striker also damaged the health of Pelacor Bandit.
🔥🔥Round 5🔥🔥
Isgald Vorst Eliminated Radiated Brute, Dragon Jumper, Flying Squid and Pelacor Bandit damaged the health of opponent monsters.
🔥🔥Round 6🔥🔥
Isgald Vorst eliminated Tenyii Striker, and disintegrator was finally eliminated. In this round, opponent's monsters did not have chance to attack my monsters.
In conclusion, it was the right battle to use ISGALD VORST.
it is good to be right; and I want to be right in all battles in terms of monsters and summoner selection; and position to use monsters.
Only Hardy Stonefish was eliminated from my lineup. I love this battle so much.
