However, here are my thoughts after reading Baxter's response to the above temptation:

Granted that living a godly life is difficult, God does not expect us to rely on our own resources. It is He who will give us the strength to live such a life through the ministry of the Holy Spirit executing the offices of Christ as prophet, priest, and king. And besides, nobody said that choosing heaven is easy. Does having heaven as your destiny not deserve your utmost effort? How about hell as a destiny? Is it easier?
